Le Club Frère Jacques has a team of 10 native speaker French teachers based across the London area and Cambridge. If you are interested in joining our talented team of specialist French teachers please e mail your CV to ClubFrereJacques@aol.com or call 0208 881 9784.
All new applicants will need to speak French to native speaker standard, have experience of teaching children aged from 3 to 11 years old and, ideally, a teaching qualification such the CAPES (France) or PGCE (UK). New teachers must be able to demonstrate their ability to deliver fun and entertaining lessons which will inspire children to learn French. All new teachers will need to supply two references and will be subject a CRB check.
Teaching French with Le Club Frère Jacques is one of the most rewarding types of teaching experience possible. Generally we teach to small groups of enthusiastic children who, with the right teacher, will learn French easily and quickly. However one disadvantage of our type of teaching is that our teachers have to travel from school to school. The teaching varies from one half lesson in a small nursery school to spending the whole school day in one school teaching each year group from reception to year 6. In central London areas teachers generally travel by public transport. In the suburbs of London and in Cambridge a car is often necessary.
We normally recruit new teachers during the Summer term (May and June) so that that are ready to begin teaching at the start of the new academic year in September. For those lacking extensive experience the Summer term provides an opportunity for training with our experienced teachers.
The minimum commitment for new teachers is one complete academic year (September through to July) and, of course, we very much hope that teachers will stay with us much longer. The senior members of our team have been teaching with Le Club Frère Jacques for over 15 years!
